Admiral (Retd.) Arun Prakash, PVSM, AVSM, Vr.C, VSM, ADC visited Manila from 9-10 November, 2011 under India-ASEAN Eminent Persons’ Lecture Series. During his stay in Manila, he delivered a lecture on ‘Rise of the East : The maritime Dimension’ organized by the National Defense College of the Philippines(NDCP) on 9th November, 2011. His lecture was attended by the students of the 46th and 47th batch courses (defense officers, civil servants, parliamentarians & private sector), senior officials from Dept. of National Defence, uniformed officers, national police, lawyers and officials of NDCP.

Admiral Arun Prakash retired as India’s 20th Chief of Naval Staff and Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee in 2006. He  served with an IAF fighter-bomber squadron flying Hunters and was awarded the Vir Chakra for gallantry in air action.  He is the recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal, the Ati Vishisht Seval Medal and the Param Vishisht Seva Medal for distinguished services rendered.
