Ambassador Chandrashekhar Dasgupta visited Manila from 17-19 October, 2011 under India-ASEAN Eminent Persons’ Lecture Series. During his stay in Manila, he delivered a lecture on ‘Sustainable Development : Promoting Development to Protect the Environment’ organized by the Foreign Service Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines on 18th October, 2011. His lecture was attended by trainee officers of DFA, several Ambassador and diplomats, distinguished members of the media and the Indian community.
2. Ambassador Dasgupta is presently a Member of Indian Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change, Distinguished Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute and Member of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Ambassador Dasgupta has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian decorators, by the President of India.
